Madari Ridge

After we had seen Larnaca and environs (not much to see) we found ourselves with a free day or two on our hands. So we decided to go back into the mountains: Troodos. First of all there were a few painted churches we wanted to re-visit. Second there are some nice high-level walks to be had and we decided to put the two things together. Perhaps the best of these walks is along the Madari Ridge. This is a long, exposed spur extending from the main Troodos massif towards the east. On a good day one can see almost the whole island from there: the north, with Nicosia, the bay of Güzelyurt/Morphou, the Kyrenian Mountains… and the south, more or less from Larnaca to Limassol.
