Nepal 2010

We have to admit it: we're certified Nepal addicts, labouring under that affliction since our first visit, in 1994.

After our slightly disappointing outing in the autumn of 2008, we decided to visit the Khumbu region once more, in the spring of 2010.

You'll find loads of tales, photos and information about that three-month trip and Nepal in general here.

The Major Trekking Regions of Nepal

(thomas;2010-Jun-06)

Most people who plan to trek in Nepal end up going to one of the two main regions: either the Everest or the Annapurnas. Both are easy to organise, relatively cheap and can be done without guides and porters or other bureaucratic hassle.

A third area, the Langtang/Helambu/Gosainkund also sees many people, though fewer than the first two. Its main advantage is that it is easy to reach: you can have an early breakfast in Kathmandu, then hop on a bus or take a taxi and hit the trail towards the Helambu just two hours later.

The following are still under construction; please check back later.
