Following are links I collected while planning the trip. Some are outdated but they do contain some good information and impressions of many travellers.

- Meghalaya: with Assam one of the most visited states in the north east
- Tripura: one of the easiest "remote" states to travel
- Manipur: bad roads, not our preferred state
- Nagaland: Dzükou valley, Kohima and the tribal areas (which we did not visit)
- Assam: with Meghalaya one of the most visited states in the north east, easy to travel
- Arunachal Pradesh: the most scenic but most restricted state
- Kolkata: only one article but plenty of info available elsewhere
