Turkey 2015

A very diverse trip combining a bit of the Mediterranean, a lot of Cappadocia and a dash to the Armenian border for the ruins of Ani.

We made our way back to Istanbul along the shores of the Black Sea with a few stops inland.

Antalya's Archaeological Museum

The visit of Antalya's Archeological Museum was one of the highlights of our trip.

Check the museum's website for an overview of the exhibits and some practical information such as opening hours and entry fee (45TL in 2020).

Unfortunately I could not find anything about this figurine, but it is wonderful.

Head of a statue of Hecate, a Greek goddess shown holding a pair of torches and depicted in triple form. She is variously associated with crossroads, entrance-ways, night, light, magic, witchcraft, knowledge of herbs and poisonous plants, ghosts, necromancy, and sorcery.
