Nepal 2016

And it's Nepal again!

We trekked the Manaslu and Annapurna circuits and paid a short visit to the Everest foothills to top it all...

Post 2015 earthquake, our first time during the monsoon season, we have a lot to share and reflect upon.

Panoramas 2016 Manaslu Panoramas

(vero;2017-Feb-28)

The weather during our trek around Manaslu has not been conducive to good panorama shots: too many clouds, no great mountain views… Here are four of the best:

16 September 2016 - Samdo to Dharamsala

On our way to Dharamsala, the last stop before crossing the Larkya La. This shot is taken looking back to Samdo. On the left, the river flowing down the mountain originates in Tibet and arrives in Nepal near Samdo. Just above it, hidden by the clouds is the border to China. To the right is the settlement of Dharamsala, the river flowing down valley is the Buri Gandaki which we have followed all the way since we started in Soti Khola.Click on the panorama to open a larger version in a separate tab. 17 September 2016 - Crossing the Larkya La

On the way up to the Larkya La (5160m). Again, there are low drifting clouds, but we manage to get a few glimpses of the glacier and the surrounding mountains. Click on the panorama to open a larger version in a separate tab. Click again to activate scrolling in the full picture.

We have reached the pass and have just started our descent. The trail remains flat for a while before dropping down to the other side. Click on the panorama to open a larger version in a separate tab. Click again to activate scrolling in the full picture.

18 September 2016 - Bhimtang to Tilje

The view down valley as we leave the plateau of Bhimtang. For us, good weather at last. Click on the panorama to open a larger version in a separate tab. Click again to activate scrolling in the full picture.
