Dorset
(vero;2024-July-25)
Dorset is a jewel. It is home to the famous Jurassic Coast, a UNESCO World Heritage Site featuring 155km of largely undeveloped coast (extending to East Devon). Major sites in this county are Lyme Regis (famous for its fossil hunting spots), Abbotsbury and Chesil Beach, the Portland Peninsula, Weymouth or the Isle of Purbeck just to name a few.
We have walked various parts of the coastal path several times:
- Walks on the Isle of Purbeck in July 2024 (and August 2022)
- A day walking the Lulworth Firing Range (August 2022)
- Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door and beyond: from Lulworth Cove to Osmington
- The Portland Peninsula and Chesil Beach
- Some Panoramas of the Jurassic Coast
And did some forays inland:
- Check our gallery of the English Heritage sites (images 2 to 7) we visited in Dorset: Portland Castle, Abbotsbury, Maiden Castle and Sherborne Old Castle.
- More to come…
Go back to South West England or go on to Isle of Purbeck or go up to England
