Somerset
(vero;2025-April-18)
Somerset is not so touristy as the other south-west counties but has a lot to show: home to Exmoor and the Quantock Hills, it also boasts a great coastline, pretty villages and great architecture.
We spent a week there in March 2025, based in Doniford near Watchet and one thing is sure: we will come back.
- Elizabethean architecture at its best: Montacute House
- Discovering the Quantock Hills
- The Jurassic coast between Kilve and Blue Anchor: not so hyped as in Dorset but as impressive
- Cleeve Abbey: the most complete and unaltered set of monastic cloister buildings in England
Go back to South West England, go on to Montacute House or go up to England
