United Kingdom

Quaint, peculiar, funny: the United Kingdom… our "Wahlheimat".

We actually like it here: the weather (and the food) are not quite as bad as the natives (and the French) make you believe.

Lulworth Firing Range Walk

(vero;2024-Aug-10)

We were in Purbeck in August 2022, right in the middle of the school holidays which meant that we could at last access the part of the coastal path located within the MOD firing range (click here to see the access times).

View of Lulworth Castle and St Andrew's Church.
Looking westwards with Portland Peninsula on the horizon (left). Looking eastwards, the last head visible on the photo is St Aldhelm's Head. Cliff fall is a real issue on the Jurassic Coast as shown on this photo. Arish Mell beach in the foreground, followed by Worbarrow Bay. Worbarrow Bay, view to the west. Worbarrow Bay, view to the east. Worbarrow Bay again. Gad Cliff. Gad Cliff, a bit further to the east. Kimmeridge Bay in the foreground, Clavell Tower on its eastern end and St Adhelm's Head in the background.

Go back to Isle of Purbeck, go on to Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door and beyond or go up to Dorset or South West England
